LO4: A proposal for certification classification

Kayna made the questionnaire so we could gain feedback from our screening of different age groups. 

The narrative has a deep meaning on mental health issues, which wouldn't be understood effectively by an audience 12-15, as it can be confusing. The feedback received overall said the narrative and horror genre suited an audience of 18 and over, however did not contain enough violence and harmful content to be classified as an 18. Our feedback said it can be classified as a 15. 

The BBFC make decisions on what film products can be classified as to suit an age group. Our film does not contain harmful content, and the violence included in the film is minor. Our film would be classified as an age rating of 15 from the BBFC.

Overall the feedback was good an the audience could see how our film fit in with the horror and thriller genre and that the editing techniques helped reflect this and created suspense to the film. The feedback said that our film title needed changing as it didn't make sense, when filming the risks were too high to create the look that Grace had killed herself, so we had to change the narrative slightly. As a group we have decided to change the name from Suicide? to who?

LO3: Linking audio to visuals and applying audio effects

I used the audio "Forest music" and moved it under the gas man clip and cut the audio using the razor tool so that the music played in time with the gas man clip.

LO3: Applying appropriate visual effects and transitions

I used the title screen on Premiere to create the credits for our short film. I used a thin text style to create the creepy affect our short film reflected. I dragged the title screens over the clips towards the end of the film.

These screen shots show how by using the razor tool I was able to cut the clips and place them in an order which follows the narrative and dialogue. This technique was used to cut the whole film up in an order that followed the storyboards, so we could then add special affects.

I changed the speed of this clip to create a slow motion affect, as Grace was walking off. I then used the "dip to black" affect over this, as it was changing location after.

I moved the clip of Grace over the Gas man clip. I then changed the opacity of Graces clip to around 40-50% so that it lightly showed through the gas man clip. I did this in time with the music as there was a slight laughing part to the audio and in Graces clip she was laughing.

By using the razor tool I cut the clip of Chris sitting down into two, I then used a clip of the gas man standing in the trees and put this between the two clips of Chris to create a flash affect.

I cut clips of Chris and the gas man by using the razor tool and made them all short to create fast cuts between them all, for the end credits. I then slowed the speed of the last clip down and used the "Dip to black affect" to finish the ending of the film.



We edited this as a group.

On the edit decision list where it says "Lauren's SD card" is where I filmed, as I filmed most of the film Kayna and Hafsa created the rushed.
